Dogs & Tsunami's
On November 9, 2013, the Robotics team tackled "Nature's Fury" at Seabury Hall. They had to come up with a solution to a real world problem related to natural disasters, and they had to program an autonomous robot to carry out a set of missions. The team's solution involved using rescue dogs from the Maui Humane Society. To prepare for competition, the team presented their project to the whole middle school and to the Maui Humane Society on November 6, 2013. Staff at the Humane Society liked the idea and gave the team valuable feedback, as well as an awesome tour of their facilities! Mahalo to the Maui Humane Society! At competition, the team exhibited confidence, camaraderie, and gracious professionalism. Although the Eaglebots did not advance to the state level of competition, they did a remarkable job throughout all phases of the competition and gained useful knowledge for next year! (And the coach learned a lot too!) Way to go team!
